First Vinyl Returned.. Now Cassettes?

Cassette
Recent years has seen the return of vinyl, with collectors and lovers of vinyl all round the world, but many people also seem to becoming fond of cassettes once again.

Many people may think "Why on earth would you want a cassette when you can download it digitally?" but there is something about the now 'vintage' feel to cassettes that people seem to love, in the same way that people love vinyl.

Bands such as LOOM have released their music on cassette recently, and they have sold out, showing that there is still a demand for them with the correct audience. Cassettes are a great way for small bands to release their music, as they are simply so cheap to record onto.

There are, of course, flaws with cassettes, and the more 'experienced' readers may appreciate this, with hours of sitting reeling back the cassette with a pencil being a big flaw. Cassettes are not as reliable as a CD, or indeed vinyl, but just as hard copies of music seem to be fading out, a re-emergence of love for tangible music has emerged.

This love for tangible music is something that should be encouraged by everyone, including parents, because it is something special. Now might be a good time to dig out those cassettes and have a listen, you might find some gems that you haven't listened to for a long while.
