Peter Doherty has confirmed that he has started work on a third Babyshambles album. Doherty has once again teamed up with producer Stephen Street, who produced Babyshambes' last release 'Shotter's Nation' back in 2007.
The album was initially planned to be a Doherty solo release, to follow up his first solo album 'Grace/Wastelands', however 'Shambles bassist Drew McConnell confirmed it would in fact be a third album for the indie/rock outfit.
Babyshambles' line up has changed once again, as was expected as Adam Ficek (drums) left the band in 2010, so in steps Jamie Morrison (previously of Noisettes). Mick Whitnall (Guitar), Stephen Large (Keyboard) and Drew McConnell (Bass) all remain in the band, of course fronted by Peter Doherty.
Peter Doherty seems to have matured as a character in recent years, with a big part of this being his move to Paris, away from the spotlight and dramas that seemed to find him no matter what he did. Previous to this new, mature Doherty however, came Babyshambles.. about as Rock 'n' Roll as a band gets, with copious amounts of drugs, fights on stage and broken equipment sending many-a-crowd into a frenzy. Will the new Babyshambles release bring back the old Doherty, or will the record show a new side to him and the band?
Although there is not a set date when the album is due, it is expected to be released at some point in 2013, let's hope it's as good as the first two.
