Are The Vaccines Saving Rock 'n' Roll?

“Guitar music is on the way out”, the famous words of Decca Records as they rejected The Beatles in 1961. We all know, of course, that The Beatles went on to be the most successful (guitar) band that has ever been, however is anyone ready to take the baton and revive guitar music once again?
There is a lack of guitar bands in the ‘pop’ culture of present, however there is one light in the dark that shines above the rest.

West Londoners, The Vaccines, now have two LPs to their name after their most recent release “Come of age” and are leading the fight back. “Come of age” stormed to the top of the UK album charts, with the upbeat singles of “No Hope” and “Teenage Icon” helping Justin Young and Co to receive rave reviews such as "A damn fine specimen of a band on the way to something great" NME.

Their success speaks for itself, with endless amounts of gongs for a band that have only been together for two years They don't seem content with this though, with a date at London's 02 arena next for the boys, topping any other headline tour gig the boys have done previously.

It seems we have a lot to owe The Vaccines as music fans, as they seem to have inspired a new wave of Indie Rock to emerge. Long may this continue.
