Blonde Louis, Monaco Bears and She Formed The Skies @ Club 85, Hitchin

Club 85 is nothing new to Hertfordshire based Blonde Louis, having previously sold out the venue, however the hype surrounding the band seems to have faded out, with most of the crowd there to support their friends in She Formed The Skies.

SFTS opened the gig with Kemplen (Vocals and Guitar) impressing with a wide range on the vocals. The "Pop-Rock" band showed more of their Pop side with covers of "Year 3000" and "Party In The USA" seemingly pleasing their friends and few others. It was only a second outing for She Formed The Skies, but there is much room for improvement.

Monaco Bears, who like Blonde Louis are no strangers to the Hertfordshire venue, gave very mixed signals throughout their set. Checketts (Vocals) got into the Christmas spirit with heaps of energy, whereas "Honorary Monaco Bears member" Plumpton (Guitar) showed the opposite with a lack of enthusiasm for someone who said "Sparks will fly tonight".

Blonde Louis opened their set with single "Midnight Kiss" and all seemed to be running smoothly, the boys continuing to charm their young audience with their matching outfits, until frontman Clarke's guitar strap snapped, stating "I can't play it, it's fucked". Clarke then decided they would have to finish their set acoustically, improvising well.

Formed in 2006, much was anticipated of Blonde Louis, after a headline slot on the BBC introducing stage at Rhythms Of The World Festival and endless touring for years, but it seems as though this anticipation for greater things has faded away.
