Paul McCartney Joins Nirvana @ Hurricane Sandy Concert

Legendary Beatles bassist Paul McCartney joined Dave Grohl and Co for a Nirvana reunion in aid of Hurricane Sandy victims.

The gig in New York, USA opened by the recently re-formed Rolling Stones was the first time the band had played together for 20 years, after the passing of Kurt Cobain. McCartney fronted the new track "Cut Me Some Slack" that came about after Dave Grohl, also in Foo Fighters, asked him to "Come and jam with some mates".

As always, people are likely to judge this critically, and it shouldn't be. This was a bit of fun to raise money for a good cause and I am sure this will come to nothing more as McCartney's voice isn't exactly suited to 90s grunge, however it was something special to see two very different but talented musicians together on the same stage.

  1. "Two very different but talented musicians" allow Krist Novoselic. He is my favourite childhood bassist
